Wolfblood was the BBC’s first foray into asynchronous multiplayer gaming. It helped CBBC players to connect with – and challenge – their friends in new ways.
User Interface Flow
As BBC games go, this one has quite a lot of custom content and flows that meander outside the realms of the Games GEL Guidelines. My first steps were to map out these flows and how we expected users to respond to relatively complex concepts.
Wireframing, Prototyping & Testing
It was vitally important to ensure that the new challenges section was easy and intuitive for the players. I worked with the BBC’s UX team to wireframe, prototype and test the interface with schoolchildren in several rounds of ‘stepping out’ sessions.
I led the UI design as well as the user experience design for Chunk. We made sure that the interface style looked part of the previous games in the series, with a new twist.
